To me art is the medicine for my heart, mind, body and soul. I paint to please myself – to represent a feeling I get when looking over the landscapes I love and remember from my childhood. I strive to capture Wallowa County and its rugged mountain terrain carved by ancient ice and bathed in fleeting light. I’m drawn to strong compositions that move me to paint quickly, and I do my best work en plain air. My influences are artists like C.M. Russell, N.C. Wyeth, and Glenn Dean. When I find time to paint I find balance in my life.
